Welcome to ic4, intentional communities 4: environmentally friendly sustainable living. Intentional communities are groups of people, with similar common goals and interests for the way they live. This usually involves acquiring land or buildings and planning out a closely knit community of people who work together to create a place they want to live.
While there are other sites that cover intentional communities it is difficult to find one that mostly covers the specific kind of community you are interested in joining or forming. Communities vary greatly from neighborhoods that are no different than most you find in cities and suburbs, to cooperatives, cohousing, religious, survivalist, communes & ecovillages.
The primary objective of ic4 is to cover environmentally friendly practices for designing and living in communities. The site focuses on the ic audience but also to anyone wishing to reduce their environmental impact through responsible building and green practices. Favorite topics to be covered include: infrastructure planning, alternative energy, building design, organic gardening, sustainability and relationships.
